Before I had a chance to make an announcement that I would be leaving an academic post to my friends, family, and former students, LinkedIn 'saved' me the trouble by posting it on Facebook. I made the change on my LinkedIn account a day before not realizing they would do so. Upon learning of my exit, many of the aforementioned individuals left me encouraging  comments. At my wife's insistence, I have posted a parceling from former students. All moved me beyond words and reaffirmed a belief I have always held: My students and their successful lives, whether in the film industry or otherwise, are my legacy.
